Your eCard will contain a link to the card you have written plus an invitation to participate in helping you earn your Gift Certificate. If at least 5 of your friends return to the site and send eCards out to new friends, then you will have earned your Gift Certificate, and they become eligible to earn their own Gift Certificates!
